Who is NDOW?

The Nevada Department of Wildlife's mission is to protect, conserve, manage and restore the state's wildlife habitats. Serving Nevada citizens, education, scientific, and recreational, NDOW promotes safety of all persons enjoying the great outdoors and waters of Nevada.


What This Agency Means to Boaters

NDOW is a law enforcement, safety and education agency for the state of Nevada. The goal? Create a safe boating environment and best outdoor experience for all Nevada boaters.


Did You Know These Nevada Laws?

  • All children under 13 must wear a life jacket while on Nevada waters.

  • Persons born on or after January 1, 1983 must complete an approved boating education course to operate a powerboat of more than 15 horsepower on Nevada waters.

Paddle Sports fans must follow many of the same safety rules just like power and sail boaters. Rules of The Road and life jacket requirements apply to this group!


Approved! Las Vegas Sail & Power Squadron is approved by the state of Nevada for boating education and Boater Education Card certifications.
